24 Hours in Greenville, South Carolina – My Ideal Itinerary

Season: Summer | Month: July

Let’s be honest—24 hours might not be enough to see everything, but it’s plenty of time to eat well, explore downtown, and fall in love with Greenville, South Carolina.

This summer, I visited Greenville for Hot Tomato Summer, an event hosted by Duke’s Mayonnaise, and used it as the perfect excuse to spend a day exploring the city’s best food spots, scenic views, and cozy accommodations. Whether you’re just passing through or planning a quick weekend trip, here’s a curated 24-hour itinerary you won’t want to miss.

Quick Travel Tips for Greenville, SC

Stay Downtown: Greenville’s downtown is charming, walkable, and full of personality. You’ll save time (and parking stress) by staying centrally.

Book Ahead: Many popular restaurants fill up fast. Make reservations 2–3 days in advance, especially for dinner or brunch.

Where to Stay in Greenville

I stayed at the AC Hotel Greenville, and it was everything you could want in a central hotel:

✔️ Beautiful suites
✔️ Rooftop bar & restaurant
✔️ Walkable to everything on this list

With on-site dining at Juniper and Paloma, plus panoramic downtown views, it’s a solid 10/10.

Where to Eat & Drink in Greenville, SC

Dinner: Scoundrel

Scoundrel is a must if you love French cuisine. Cozy and upscale with an intimate vibe, this spot is perfect for small groups or a romantic date night. The chef is a James Beard finalist, and the dishes live up to the hype.

📌 Reservations are recommended.

Unfortunately, my camera stayed in the hotel, but take my word for it, you will love the food here.

Lunch: Indaco or Papi’s Tacos

Indaco – Wood-fired pizzas, delicious pastas, and a great wine list. Ideal for a casual yet elevated lunch. No reservations needed mid-day.

Papi’s Tacos – Craving something more laid-back? Grab tacos by the river with amazing views. It’s quick, authentic, and packed with flavor.

Brunch: Passerelle Bistro

Located at the edge of Falls Park, Passerelle Bistro offers delicious French-inspired brunch with a view. Whether you’re sipping mimosas with friends or enjoying a solo morning, this spot brings the Southern charm and European flair.
